Taking a break from his recent string of hit vocal collaborations Athenian producer/DJ George Bakalakos, AKA NTEIBINT returns with 'True', a new instrumental track that expertly marries a taut, sinuous bass line and 90s house stabs with delicate percussive loops, a rattling drum break and airy vocal samples to sublime effect.
“I wanted to create a follow up to last year’s Colours and had this idea to try and write, something almost delicate, a kind of ballad that you could easily fit into a set alongside big room tunes on a bass heavy soundsystem,” explains George. “So I was vibing away, combining different sounds and styles from the dance music spectrum and came up with True, a mix and match of breaks and big bass sounds but with these soft and emotional vocal hooks that places it somewhere between R&B and House music territory.”
The result is a surprisingly subtle leftfield gem, whilst the bass line dominates the track and is sure to sound incredible booming through a club sound system, it’s the additional elements George weaves throughout the track that elevates it to something truly special.
