Eskimo Recordings celebrates its 25th anniversary with ∞ – 25 Years Of Eskimo Recordings, a 50-track compilation curated by Athenian DJ and longtime label artist NTEIBINT. The release traces both his personal connection to the label and its broader evolution, spanning more than two decades of forward-thinking electronic music.
Across its history, Eskimo has built a reputation for championing genre-defining artists and compilations, from Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, Aeroplane and Satin Jackets to acclaimed DJ-curated projects by Curses, Bill Brewster, Optimo, Richard Norris and Psychemagik. It has also consistently introduced new Belgian talent, including Aili, while maintaining the eclectic spirit that defined its beginnings.
That identity was forged in Ghent’s (Belgium) legendary Eskimo Fabriek warehouse rave parties. DJs such as The Flying Dewaele Brothers (aka Soulwax aka 2manydjs) and The Glimmers blended disco, synth-pop, new wave, acid house and rock into a new club language that helped shape Belgium’s indie dance scene.
A “Love Letter” from Greece to Ghent
∞ – 25 Years Of Eskimo Recordings was compiled by NTEIBINT during a summer stay in Pylos, Greece, following a conversation with Eskimo label manager Nadiem Shah about the label’s legacy. Reflecting on the process, he describes it as “a summer love letter from Greece to Ghent,” assembled intuitively while revisiting key moments from the catalogue.
His connection to Eskimo began in 2002 in London, where he first encountered Ray Mang’s Mangled. Years later, after returning from compulsory military service in Greece, he submitted demos to the label, resulting in his debut release Never Without You featuring Σtella. The compilation reflects that journey, moving from early cult releases by Ray Mang through to landmark records by Aeroplane, Curses, Blende and others.
Highlights include Todd Terje’s remix of Reverso 68, described by NTEIBINT as an era-defining space disco moment, alongside tracks that helped bridge underground club culture with wider audiences, such as Aeroplane-era cuts and Girl, Forever, without diluting the label’s identity.
The compilation has a yet unreleased track from Matured Sinners, a new project that NTEIBINT created together another Eskimo artist Blende. Twenty-five years on, Eskimo Recordings continues to evolve while staying rooted in the exploratory spirit of its origins.
∞ – 25 Years Of Eskimo Recordings will be available digitally via Bandcamp and all major streaming platforms from 3rd of July onwards. The compilation holds 50 tracks that mark the 25 years of Eskimo Recordings, including a brand new track of Matured Sinners.
